Saving your Personalization Table as a View

Updated on

To avoid you having to reconfigure the table layout every time you restart iPE, you can save your table layout (columns, sorts, grouping & filters) each time you make adjustments. This is stored in a central table, allowing you to create personal or shared views. Some column edits are also stored in your browser cache (for example if you edit the columns, sorting, grouping or filters and then click on the toolbar REFRESH icon).

You can also save these layouts to recall on other devices, share with other users or with all users (admin users only).  The view menu highlighted in the screen shot below allows you to select a view which has been previously created, or to save the current table layout, columns, sort and filters as a new view (Create New):

  1. A shared view is one which has been created by an admin. user for everyone to use. If you are not an admin you won't get this option
  2. A preferred view is the one view which will be adopted the next time you open this application. Only one view can be set as preferred
  3. A preferred & shared view is the one view which will be adopted by everyone next time they open this application (unless they created a personal shared view which takes priority).

To create a new view select "Create New View" from the link below the list of views, and complete the popup shown below, entering:

  1. The name of your new view, which should be unique not the same as any previous views
  2. Check this box if you want your view to be used by default, i.e. it is the preferred view
  3. If you want to share your view with colleagues (non admin users) then select their names here
  4. Check this box (admin users only) if you want other users to see and use your view.

Hit the Confirm button to save you new table layout or view, and if it's not preferred select it from the Select View menu next time you wish to use it.

It is recommended to make view names as specific as possible. If you just call the views by your name you will forget what they all are, rather put in the name the key information you want to see, and how it has been filtered.

To update an existing view select 'Update View' from the same gear menu. As long as you are authorized, you can modify the layout and name of this view.

You can delete existing views by first selecting 'Update View' and then pressing the DELETE button in the popup that comes.

Twenty5 occasionally makes software updates or upgrades which cause existing views to fail, for example if a column is removed or repurposed from the application which has been saved in some views. If your view stops loading contact your system administrator who may need to re-create it following an iPE software upgrade.
