Explains the concept of cost of money and net present value (NPV)
What is Proposal Cashflow
Each proposal is delivered with a series of time-phased costs and assumptions about the proposed deliverables and payment schedule or billing milestones. The CASHFLOW tab of the cost/price tool projects the cumulative cash receipts (or cash "in") vs. anticipated cumulative expenditures (or cash "out") over the period of performance for the proposal. To access this view click on the CASHFLOW tab of the cost/price workbench.
- Blue shaded bars represent the customer payments or receipts on a month by month basis. The date of each payment comed from the proposal billing plan
- The green line represents the cumulative receipts, or the sum total or payments from the proposal bill until each month
- The XXX line represents the cumulative payments. This is based on the cost model "pay month" and represents the required date for that part number plus the payment terms (anticipated delay in payment), on a cumulative cost basis
- The same payments in the chart are shown in the table below. Payments can only be edited in the estimate (e.g. planned order) or in the billing milestones.
