Explains the concept of formula that are used on a one-off basis for a specific project or proposal.
What are Project or Proposal-specific Formula?
Project-specific formula are formula created specifically to use on one project or proposal. They can be created by non-system administrators but they cannot be used on other proposals or projects than the one they were created for.
If you want to create a formula to use on estimates across multiple proposals, projects, contact your system administrator and ask them to convert your project-specific formula into a generic formula which is shared across the system.
How to Create a Proposal or Project-specific Formula?
To create a project-specific formula click on the CREATE button at the bottom of the selection or search list of formula, from within the formula column of your estimate. This button is highlighted in the screen image below. The formula column appears in labor, material and other cost estimates, as well as in the variant product structure. Search for the formula column if it does not appear.

Once you click on the CREATE button a popup will appear where you can set up and define your new formula, plus create new or re-use existing parameters and enter an expression. Refer to this link for more information on formulas.
