Editing your User Profile in iPE

To edit your user profile in iPE click on your name in the top-right corner of the iPE application, and select 'Edit my Profile' from the menu.

Add Columns in a Table

You user record is divided into tabs for your PROFILE, ROLES, PREFERENCES and LOCKS. The PROFILE tab is displayed and explained below. In this tab you can:

  1. Upload a photo of yourself which will typically appear next to your name
  2. Edit your name how it appears in the application
  3. Edit your primary email which is the email iPE uses to send workflow messages to you at
  4. View the company or segment you are assigned to. This impacts what projects or estimates you can access depending on your role
  5. View your userID which is how you log in
  6. View when you last logged into iPE
  7. View if you are noted as a US citizen or not. US citizens can access proposals and projects which are marked as ITAR restricted.

Other fields in the user preferences tab below are often managed in your company's HR system and therefore not used in iPE. Your system administrator may have populated some or all of these fields however iPE should not be consider as the HR system of record.

The ROLES tab displays your job role and your access rights to various apps or activities within iPE. When you log in the menu which appears at the top of the screen is actually based on how your assigned role is defined.

In the screen shot below you can see the role menu for a System Administration user. You cannot edit your own authorization or role. If you feel that you need authorization to something please contact your system administrator to help.

The PREFERENCES tab is where you can define your desired localization such as what format you would like to view (1) dates, (2) times and even (3) numbers (decimal point vs. comma for example). You can also maintain the activity you wish to start on every time you open iPE, or whether you would prefer to start with whatever activity you were last doing.

While iPE is built to be multi-lingual it is not translated to languages other than English at this time.

The LOCKS tab is simply a list of all the records and documents (e.g. projects, risks or estimates) which you currently have open and therefore you are locking others from changing. Each project, estimate or risk can only be edited by one person at a time.

Locks are automatically released as you exit each document or revert back to display mode (not locking). Use the DELETE ALL LOCKS button to remove locks which do not appear to have got released properly.
