Organizations or companies with whom you conduct business, selling products or services, are referred to as customers or prospects. To access and modify customer details, simply double-click on the name of the company from the customer list.
On the KEY INFO tab you can:
- Edit the company name
- Edit the company's primary phone or email address
- Specify who is your primary contact at this company. You can create new contacts in the CONTACTS tab
- Specify what type of company this is e.g. client/customer or vendor
- If you want to model your customer's organization structure such as head-quarters and satellite locations then create a customer record for each location and mark the parent company for each satellite
- Specify the billing address
- When companies are imported from Salesforce accounts the CRM ID is stored here
- When customer records are imported from SAP the SAP ID is stored here. This is also useful if sales contracts are being generated in SAP when you win a proposal
- The currency customer's would like to see proposals in can be specified, and will default as the "customer currency" in new proposals. You can change the customer's currency and exchange rates in a proposal
- Payment terms dicate how many days after a billing payment a payment receipt from this customer can be expected. This is useful for cashflow projections
- You can also specify the shipping address or check the box to make it the same as the billing address
- Your implementation consultant can define roles for customers such as ship to, bill to, sell to, to select here
- The person in your organization who is primarily responsible for this customer relationship can be selected.
