How do I Add a New Employee?

Explains how to hire a new employee or contractor

Employee List

Manage > People menu lists all your employees and contractors still working for your company, with the option to show terminated resources if desired. You can keep track of information in this list such as:

  1. Name or employee ID
  2. Key contact information (phone/email)
  3. Date hired
  4. Job role, manager and company affiliation
  5. Work-schedule and location
  6. Salary plan and time-off rule
  7. iBE.net user assigned

You can add/remove columns and save your revised table layouts.

Click on the + button to hire a new employee (as highlighted in orange)

To hire a new employee enter key header information mentioned above:

  1. Employee ID or code may be system generated or input by user depending on how the number range is set-up
  2. Date hired (time cannot be entered prior to this date)
  3. Country where employee is based (pay/expenses are normally paid here)
  4. Name (click on "Edit Name" to enter first, middle, last, prefix, suffix or nick-name)
  5. Type e.g. employee vs. contractor
  6. Company where employee is based (which defaults if you only have one company)

Following this, enter information as required in the remaining tabs such as personal, contact, job, time & time-off, compensation or bank details. You can also attach personnel files such as resumes, employment contracts or hiring letters in the FILES tab. The actual tabs may vary depending on how your admin set-up your screen layouts.

Be aware of file permissions and sensitivity when attachinf employee files in FILES tab, as they may be public or private. Use the sensitive business document type and refer here for more information.
