Gives a general overview of how iBE.net web-application screens are organized
What is the Overall Screen Layout?
Most screens in iBE.net are divided into the following elements:
- In the top-center is the main navigation bar with all your common tasks or apps, as tabs. Clicking on a grey main tab such as "TASKS" or "TIME" brings a darker sub-menu of activities immediately below. For example the main activity "HOME" has a sub-menu with "Inbox", "My Profile", "People Lookup" and "Files". Your system administrator can customize these menus by job role. You can also instruct iBE.net to re-open the last activity you did when you logged out or closed your session
- In the top-right corner you can access the help menu as well as seeing your name and photo, with the global search box underneath. Type key words from documents into the search box to search the entire system for documents, messages or data containing those words (including many attachments)
- The title of the activity or task you are performing is displayed in large font at the top-left. A title starting with "Create..." means that you have not yet saved your document. After saving your document the title will normally change to "Edit..." or "Display..." if you are not allowed to change this data. Quick filters or commonly used actions specific to the activity you are in are displayed as links directly below the main title
- The main toolbar is displayed in the top-right corner of your screen immediately below the global search box. This toolbar generally contains functions or buttons which work the same way across multiple apps - such as buttons to create a document, copy a document and save a document. If you mouse-over any button a tooltip will explain in more detail what it does. Sometimes button have menus which come on mouse-over. More advanced and application-specific functions are generally in a menu under the far-right "More" button (down-arrow icon)
- The main panel takes up most of the space and contains specific information on the activity you are currently performing
- The far-left contains a strip of icons for left panel widgets. Click on any of these icons to open its widget in a panel which slides out from the left side of the screen
- Your company logo is displayed in the top-left corner. Contact your system administrator to upload a new company logo.
