Explains how to record time via the desktop task timer. Also refer to the help topic on different ways to capture time.

Starting the Task Timer

Click here if you did not yet install the Chrome plug-in task timer.

To start the task timer in Chrome, click on the "apps" icon and shown in the illustration above. Find and click on the iBE Desktop Timer app in your list of Chrome apps. This will open a separate non-browser window, which you can create a short-cut to from your desktop or dock.

Log into the Chrome Timer the same way as you log into the iBE.net application.

To record time to a new task click on "NEW TASK" as illustrated above. From here you can:

  1. Select your customer, project, task or department you are working on
  2. Click to start the timer
  3. Click to stop the timer
  4. Click to expand the form and enter remarks or update the billable indicator (if you are doing non-billable time)
  5. Click on the elapsed time to edit it (stopped timers only)
  6. Click to push your elapsed time to your timesheet (stopped timers only).

To update a previous timer click on the timer from the list to highlight it. Following can be done to update:

  • Click pencil to change task
  • Click speech bubble to edit comment or billable flag
  • Delete timer
  • Push to a timesheet

Note: you cannot update a timer which is still running or which has been previously imported into a timesheet
