To start a new project click on Tasks > Projects in the standard menu, you will see a list of your projects.

1. Click on the + button on the right-side toolbar.

1. Enter project description. You can also enter a longer description or define project goals in the text box at the bottom
2. Select a project type from the list being careful to choose whether your project is internal vs. billable to clients, and enter or select the customer it is for if external. The project type or customer can only be changed later on in limited circumstances and then only the project has not been billed
3. Select a project leader. This defaults to the current user so only change it if you are not the leader
4. The company will default unless you are a multi-entity organization, in which case you must select which of your companies owns this project. Check or modify the project start and finish dates
5. For external projects you may enter the total value of the project. This is stored as a customer fund and used up as invoices are generated. You can click on "More funds" checkbox to enter multiple funding sources, purchase orders or change orders
6. Enter an ID for your project and a description or project title. Depending on your project type the ID or code might be internally assigned by the system
7. Start and finish dates default to current month or year, but can be easily modified to suit your timeline. You can optionally specify the project's primary location, cost budget, asset the project is constructing, department or customer's main contact on this project

Click on the save button in the main toolbar to save your project or continue directly to adding milestones, defining tasks, inviting resources, defining service rates, or setting up project phases or goals.
