Changing Task Priority or Phase

Updated on

Explains how to update the priority or phase of a task

Changing your Task Priority

Changing your Task Priority

To update the priority of your task click on the priority field in the task list or task overview (1) or go to task details and click on the priority field (2) within the GENERAL tab (3). Select the priority that best matches this task. Note that priorities appear in order of importance not alphabetical order.

It is recommended to establish company wide rules for task prioritization ahead of time so that "High" means the same thing to everyone.

Contact [email protected] to define your own priorities. This is currently one of the few settings we need to make for you. We will set up any list of priorities that you require.

Changing your Task Phase

Changing your Task Phase

Once phases have been setup in your project it is very easy to assign tasks to a phase. Click on the "Phase" column next to your task (1) and select the phase from the drop-down list which appears (2).

Your project manager will normally set up allowed phases in advance in each project. Your system administrator can allow you to define new phases at task level on the fly within the project type set-up, thus bypassing the requirement to set up phases in advance on each project.

Phases are just one way to group and organize tasks. You can also create task-lists or sub-tasks or organize tasks by priority or date.
