How to Filter the Cost Model

Updated on

Explains how to limit the Costing Workbench pivot to only a sub-set of costing data

Cost Model Filters

To filter the data being reported, for example to only show costs for one country, or a portion of the WBS, or for certain cost elements, click on the filter icon highlighted below.

After clicking the filter icon select the field on which you want to filter and enter one or more values for this field

  • The values you can choose from depends on the field you selected as a filter
  • Values are not limited to data which is present in the report. For example if you filter on cost element you can choose any series of cost elements to include, even ones which are not in this proposal and consequently you won't see any costs for them.
  1. Select the field you want to filter on from the list, in this case you are filtering by the WBS. You can choose to filter on almost any field in the cost model with measure-like filters such as "hours" and "cost" giving you the option to limit data to a range >= and <= user input values
  2. Prior to assigning a value to the WBS filter the costs for all WBS elements are displayed
  3. After selecting the filter the WBS element costs displayed is reduced to just that WBS (see below)
  4. You can filter on several fields at once, one costs which meet ALL the criteria you specify will be displayed

Filter values are saved when you save a view of the costing workbench.
